Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a seasoned Senior Automation DeltaV Engineer. The Senior Automation Engineer will be responsible for the high-level self-management and execution of automation integration for capital projects. You will provide technical leadership on DeltaV design, commissioning, and start-up of control systems and collaborate cross-functionally to undertake technical reviews of documents generated by others. You will be responsible for generating, revising, and troubleshooting automation code, as well as writing and executing commissioning and qualification protocols to ensure systems are fit for purpose.

Qualifications
- Experience: 5 to 20+ years of experience in biotech, pharmaceutical, medical device, or academic environments. 10+ years specifically in automation is required.
- Autonomy: Ability to provide technical leadership, oversight, and management to ensure fulfillment of project deliverables and maintain key client relationships.
- Education: Engineering or Scientific degree.
- Mandatory Technical Depth:
- Extensive experience programming and troubleshooting Emerson DeltaV systems, including continuous control (equipment modules, control modules), unit operations, and batch control.
- Proficiency configuring and troubleshooting bus instrumentation (Foundation Fieldbus, AS-I bus, PROFIBUS, and DeviceNet).
- Experienced leveraging VCAT to streamline documentation and testing.
- Expert knowledge of DCS (DeltaV, ABB, Rockwell), BAS (Siemens, Schneider, Honeywell), PLC (Rockwell, GE, ABB), and SCADA (iFix, FT).
- Familiarity with plant floor historian databases and reporting tools such as OSI, iHistorian, and SQL Server.
- Commissioning & Validation: Proven experience in the full range of Biotech/Pharma project phases, including conceptual/detailed design, construction support, and CQV. Knowledge of ASTM E2500 verification and risk-based methodologies is essential.
- Process Knowledge: Experience with manufacturing equipment such as CIP/COP, filtration skids, chromatography, fermentors/bioreactors, and hygienic utility systems (WFI, Clean Steam).
- Documentation: Extensive experience writing, reviewing, and updating design and functional specifications, as well as executing IQ, OQ, and commissioning protocols.
- Project Management: Ability to manage project scheduling/budgeting and coordination of client and Omni resources for effective project delivery.
- Skills: Excellent technical leadership, thoroughness in detail-oriented deliverables, and proficiency in Office software (Word, Excel).
